BEST Centre Day: Abuja Chamber of Commerce’s business, entrepreneurship, tech centre trained 4000 since inception

The Business Entrepreneurship Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has empowered over 4000 persons in various vocations and skills since inception in September 2016 and began full operation in 2018.
These are in ICT skills, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, gemology, leadership, management and executive capacity development among others.
Chairman Centre and ACCI 2nd Deputy President Professor Adesoji Adesugba made this known during the inaugural Centre Day celebration in Abuja.
He said the Centre’s paramount focus is on empowering youth and women with over 80% of its alumni belonging to the demographics, having received training across various skills and business support programs.
Going forward, Professor Adesugba said the Centre is committed to the business community and poised to provide capacity development programs for a minimum of 5000 individuals within the next three years.
The Chairman pointed out that as the Centre embarks on another journey, it reflects on the past, celebrate its achievements, and anticipate a future of greater significance.
He said together, the destiny of BEST Centre shall be reshaped, opportunities for learning, advancement crafted with positive metamorphosis.
The Director General of ACCI, Dr Victoria Akai said the Day holds particular significance as it marks a moment of reflection, celebration, and anticipation for the remarkable journey undertaken.
Dr. Victoria who was the pioneer Director of the BEST Centre, acknowledged with pride and gratitude the growth and success that have flourished since the inception of the institution.
According to her, the Centre, from its inception, has been a beacon of excellence, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning defined by the collective efforts of dedicated team, passionate trainers, supportive partners and the incredible individuals who have passed through the programs.
She pointed out that the impact of the Centre reverberates in the achievements and successes of those it had the privilege to serve.
The Director-General said ACCI is commitment to providing world-class training, fostering a culture of innovation, and contributing to the growth of businesses remains unwavering.
Dr. Victoria said the Centre has become a hub for transformative experiences, where individuals and organizations alike discover their potential and chart new paths to success.
