Nasarawa Governor Engineer Sule
By Ahmed Tahir, Lafia
A former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ahmed Musa Mohammed has described Governor Abdullahi Sule as a visionary and extraordinary leader who has put the state first over personal interest.
He stated this in a message marking Governor Sule’s 64th birthday in Lafia.
In the message which he personally signed and made available to newsmen, the two-time speaker said Governor Sule has displayed the characters and vision of the Northern leaders of the late Sardauna, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello’s era in administering the state.
He said among such attributes Sule has applied in the administration of the state include selflessness, courage, modesty and prudence in the management of resources accruing to the state.
Musa who is also the Accountant General of the State, equally described the governor as unifier and bridge builder who has been able to foster unity among contending religious and tribal interests in the state.
He explained that it is to the benefit of the state that such a personality with many years of private sector experienced became its chief executive at this point in the history of the state.
He said such experiences and influential contacts were responsible for the level of transformation the state has been witnessing under this dispensation.
He noted that the governor’s development blueprint called the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) document has greatly impacted on the state’s economy and other sectors.
While felicitating with the governor on the occasion of his birthday, he prayed to the Almighty Allah to continue to grant him (Governor Sule) the strength and wisdom to further provide the dividends of democracy to the people of the state, just as the Baraden Nasarawa prayed to Allah to grant the governor victory at the supreme court.
He called on the people of the state to pray and support the governor as he steers the state on the path of development and growth.
