Bishop Odili–Okeke asks Christians to uphold sanctity of family

Christians have been urged to respect the sacrament of Holy Matrimony and gift of family.
The Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Hillary Odili-Okeke in a homily to mark this year’s feast of Holy Family at Holy Family Catholic Church, Umunuko, Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The Bishop called on fathers who are the heads of the family to respect, care and recognize their wives as pillars behind their family success.
He stressed that the need for wives to honour and submit totally to their husbands in everything that is good.
The Primate who noted that the visit is one of his ways to reach out to Catholic faithful of Nnewi and to share in their joy and difficulties as well as deliver his teachings and message of Jesus Christ to them.
Bishop Odili-Okeke called on every family to emulate the Holy Family of Jesus, Joseph and Mary in everything they do, charging children to respect and obey their parents to live long.
Blessing of the people and presentation of gifts to the Bishop by statutory bodies and Parish Council featured during the visit.
