Bishop’s wife urges federal government to deploy strategies to tackle high cost of living

The President, Diocesan Women’s Ministry of Aguata Diocese and wife of the Bishop of the diocese, Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, has decried the high cost of living in Nigeria, saying that the situation has caused hardships and series of untimely deaths among the populace.
Mrs Ezeofor stated this while delivering her address during the 20th Aguata Diocesan Women’s conference at St. Luke’s Parish, Isulo, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Acknowledging that Nigeria is blessed with abundant human and natural resources, Mrs Ezeofor who also blamed the nation’s woes on bad leadership called on federal government to map out far reaching measures to address the high cost of living in the country.
She urged the government to find way of assisting farmers with soft loans and farm inputs to ensure bumper harvest.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Gods Great tasks for the church 2 The Great commission”, Ezeofor regretted youths’ gradual return to idolatry, charging Christians to be more committed to grassroot evangelism to bring the youths back to God.
The Bishop’s wife who called for concerted efforts in the fight against insecurity and kidnappings in the country, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for restoring people’s confidence in governance through infrastructural development, especially roads and called for its sustainability.
The Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Rt Rev Samuel Ezeofor, who is the Patron of the Women Ministry charged women to assist in bringing the necessary transformation in the society.
He also called for reorientation of youths targeted at changing their mindset from get rich quick syndrome to hard work.
President of the Women’s Ministry in Awka Diocese and Niger Province, Dr Chioma Ibezim, charged Christian women to champion the ongoing move to carry the gospel to all nooks and crannies of the state.
Some of the delegates to the conference, Lady Gloria Eze Ezika and Lady Ngozi Ike described the conference’s theme as apt, promising to assist in escalating it in their various churches and communities to enthrone God-fearing and decent society.
