An ex-presidential aide, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla has called on Nigerians to ask and look for the blueprint drawn by former Lagos State governor, and APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the Actualisation of APC and development of Nigeria instead of spending time to worry about his age and health.

He said the two should not be determining factors for assessment of his capability to leadership

In a statement titled Age is no barrier to good leadership, Obono-Obla said what Nigerians should ask is, “What is Tinubu’s blueprint for Nigeria in the months ahead towards actualization of APC to victory at the General Elections in 2023. Let’s start asking these questions not the age or health of a man. He certainly must have known he can withstand the rigours of Presidency.”

He cautioned that Tinubu’s age should not be a problem at all to leadership of the country.

“Age is no Barrier to Leadership; I have said it time without number that age should not be a barrier to the accomplishment of leadership.

“Many world leaders are senior citizens, but that does not stop them from performing their roles as administrators. We see many examples from the African continent and globally.

“President Paul Biya of Cameroon is 89 years old; President Nana Akufo of Ghana is 77 years; President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria is 77 years; President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda is 76 years old; President Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast is 78 years.

“President Manuel Pinto De Costa is 83 years old. “

He also cited many other global leaders who are into their 80s yet were performing well although some, including the 32nd US President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, for instance, was paralysed from the waist down.

“Infirmary or frailty is not a barrier to leadership”, he concluded.
