Bogoro Local Government Council of Bauchi State has disclosed that it will spend not less than N2 million as financial support to its students studying at various higher institutions across the country in the the 2022 fiscal year.
The disclosure was made by the Executive Chairman of the Council, Mr Iliya Habila disclose in an interactive session with Journalists in his office over the weekend.
According to him, a total of 150 students will benefit from the financial assistance as they will be selected from the 13 political wards that make up the area.
He explained that the financial assistance will cover only transport allowance and not scholarship as speculated in the social media.
Iliya Habila further stated that the decision was an outcome of the Council meeting held recently and designed to cushion the effects of students plight in schools having left their homes couple with the economic crunch.
He said that, “I want to inform you that, we have received many applications seeking for financial assistance from students who are indegenes of bogoro LGA and Council has approved the sum of N2million to be offered to those that are qualified” .
The Council Chairman added that, “We are not given scholarship but just a token as financial support to our students. We cannot accommodate all but by the Grace of God we will continue to do more as the financial strength of the local government improve”. Iliya Habila appealed to the people of bogoro to support the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed and the local government to enable them fulfill their mandate as contained in a statement by Gomna James, Information officer

That is the most great thing ever in my life to hear about this in Bogoro, the great gift to give to person is moral support in knowledge and if the government will be helping his students every year like this it will be very good and a good foundation to the government.
Also there should not forget with those that have graduated for long without work or anything doing, if the government also will create a way to support them also it will be very good. Support by helping them get work with any of the force I mean military or any thing that will be paid it will be very good also.
