Bogoro youths distance from road blocks, harassment, intimidation of innocent people in Tafawa Balewa

Youths in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State have dissociated themselves from the recent mounting of road blocks in Tafawa Balewa town thereby disrupting free flow of traffic in the area.

The youths, from the three village areas of Bogoro, Boi and Lusa converged at the Bogoro LGA headquarters on Thursday in show of solidarity to the State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and the Caretaker Chairman of Bogoro LGA.

Representatives of the group, Mr Zakka Yusuf Bogoro, Mr Diminta Yakubu from Boi and Mr Ishaku Godiya Lusa differently said that they were at the Council Secretariat to register their solidarity and support to the Chairman, Hon Markus Bitrus Lusa and the state Governor Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed. 

Part of the message reads: “We want the whole world to know that we are dissociating ourselves from the blocking of roads and all forms of criminality going on in Tafawa Balewa. Sir, we want to tell you that youths in Bogoro, Boi and Lusa are not part of what is going on in Tafawa Balewa.”

The statement further reads, “We reiterates our loyalty to His Excellency, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Bogoro LGA and the traditional rulers in Bogoro LGA.” 

The youths declared that, “We say no to all forms of criminality carried out by some person’s or group of persons. We stand with you, we will live in peace.” 

In his response, the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Hon Markus Bitrus Lusa expressed appreciation for the visit and urged them to respect constituted authorities.

Markus Bitrus Lusa also said that government will not succumb to any form of intimidation pointing out that nobody is too big before the law and that government will continue to do what is right.

He appealed to the youths to remain peaceful and not allow anyone to use them to achieve personal interest.

The Chairman lamented how many people have lost their lives and properties, children had missed their exams and many people are not able to continue with their businesses since the beginning of the dastardly act.

He assured them that he will forward their complaint to the state government for prompt action.
