All Progressives Congress (APC) Youths Progressive Forum (AYPF), has endorsed the former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for the national chairman of the party.
In a press statement signed by the National Chairman of the APC Youth Progressive Forum in Maiduguri, Borno state, Ukasha Hamza Rahama, which was made available to journalists, stated that the move is to ensure that Al-Makura was elected as the National Chairman.
According to the statement, the collective resolution of the members was to ensure that the ruling APC stands on its feet, viable and strong even after the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure in 2023.
He said Senator Al-Makura having been one of the nation respected nationalists is coming at the time the rulling party needs him most because of his long good track records in governance as a former Governor and now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He added “among all of the contenders for the office of the APC National Chairman, Senator Al-Makura remains the only dependable, reliable, trustworthy and best option to salvage the party and return it to winning ways in 2023 general elections”.
The APC youth forum solicited for support from all APC stakeholders particularly the national delegates to ensure that they take decisions in favour of the overall interest of all APC members in Nigeria by voting for Senator Al-Makura as the next national Chairman.
“As one of the former Secretary of NRC, a founding Member of APC from the merger level through CPC as a serving Governor of Nassarawa State. His courageous stands to propagate the needs to support the emergence of the new era of leadership in Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He added that, “I am using this opportunity to solicit for support of All APC stakeholders and particularly the party’s national delegates, youths and women leaders to ensure that they take decision in favour of the overall national interest of all APC members in Nigeria by voting Senator Al-Makura as the next National Chairman”.
Ukasha said that, “I believe that Al-Makura will offer an open doors policy and I will keep to the promises to be made in the course of our electioneering campaign coming soon in all the geopolitical zones of the country. I pledge to support his initiative according to the overwhelming support he received from members of the APC particularly the stakeholders”.
He said that, “we are looking beyond our region in the North East and travel far away to Nasarawa State to identified ourselves with Al-Makura believing that he has all he requisite experience to advance the course of the ruling APC and sustaining its gains and securing the future.
He was part of the merger as the only surviving Governor from the opposition Congress for Progressive Change. It means he knows the history,the problems and the solutions that will further sustain the gains and secure the future of the rulling All Progressive Congress ahead of the nation General elections in 2023.
However, the wisdom behind Senator Al-Makura’s aspiration is to ensure cohesion and unity of the party as well safeguarding the tanets and the legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari administration so also ensuring the values of the party are kept alive.
He described that, Al-Makura was part of the merger as the only surviving Governor from the opposition Congress for Progressive Change. It means he knows the history, the problems and the Solutions that will further sustain the gains and secure the future of the rulling All Progressives Congress ahead of the nation General elections in 2023.
APC under his watch will be committed in building harmony, peace and unity of Nigeria been a detrablised politician that gave it all for democracy to strive.
