The Borno State Government has completed plans to float a 25-year development plan,with a 10 year implementation mandate to bring back the state to its lost glory.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser and Coordinator for Sustenable DEVELOPMENT, Partnership and Humanitarian Affairs to the GOVERNOR,Dr Mairo Mandara, in an interministerial press briefing held at the multipurpose hall, government house MAIDUGURI.
According to her, the development plan is a brainchild of GOVERNOR ZULUM,in which major stakeholders,religious and traditional rulers, among others were engaged with a ten year implementation mandate.
“I can tell you that Borno is the only state in Nigeria that has a 25-year development plan and a 10-year implementation plan.
“We are looking at how to rebuild Borno within the SDGs and the African Union 2030 plan among others,” Mandara said.
Also ,she explained that the plan is hinged on eight pillars of human capital development, social reorientation, agriculture and maintaining a healthy citizenry and that,the state has already started coordinating international and local NGOs working in Borno to ensure that they operate within armpits of the laws in collaboration with government.
