Borno governor, Zulum confides in religious leaders to end COVID-19 lockdown

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State confided in religious leaders to suggest the way forward to curb the spread ofCOVID-19,and end the lockdown to enable farmers go to their farms and those who work on daily basis to earn a living to source for their livelihoods as government intends to ease the lockdown,though with some stringent measures.
Addressing the religious leaders at the Governemnts House, Maiduguri, noted that Borno is an agrarian state in which most people are farmers and now that the planting sesean is around the corner, government has considered it necessary to end the lockdown order by Wednesday May 14, 2020 at 10.30 pm.
He charged all religious leaders in the state to submit to the state government, through the office of the Deputy Governor, their suggestions for consideration on whether or not mass religious gathering should be allowed at the expiration of the lockdown.
Also CAN State Chairman, Bishop Mohammed Naga,in his remarks, thanked the governor for considering CAN as part of the decision making body in the state and promised that CAN as a body will submit it’s position to the government accordingly and noted that covid-19 is not a joke and therefore should be viewed with all seriousness.
