The state Commissioner Information, Home Affairs and Culture, Babakura Abba-Jato, hinted this, at the flag- off of a 10-day ministerial press briefing to mark the first year anniversary of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, held at the multipurpose hall, Government House, Maiduguri.
According to him, the radio stations are to be located at Biu, Dikwa, Monguno and Damasak basically to sensitize the
people against Boko Haram insurgency and illiteracy among the various communities affected by the decade long terrorism in the Northeast.

On Borno Radio & Television (BRTV) station, he said, “The FM radio Biu station has been completed and operational. While the remaining three community radio stations are to be built and equipped to commence community transmission.
“The BRTV stations has been provided with a new transmitter, just as a booster station would be established to ensure that it covers the entire Borno including neighbouring states of Yobe and Adamawa.

“We are also going to put the television station on satellite for citizens in diaspora to receive both radio and television clear signals while the state information unit,has eaually been equipped with facilities to make it more efficient in the dissemination of information to public.
On dormant Government printing press, he said, “We have also resuscitated the state printing press that has been dormant for
over three decades”.

The Commissioner who also oversees the state Fire Service, hinted that 62 fire engines are being refurbished to boost the fleets of fire fighting equipment in the state.
