Buhari’s government has done more to Cross River than previous govts – minister

The Minister of State for Power, Godwin Jedy-Agba has claimed that the present APC-led federal government has done more than any past administrations in the country.
The Minister spoke when revalidated his membership of the party in his local community in Obudu and stressed that that the registration exercise was an ample opportunity for more people from the state to key into the vision of the party.
Jedy-Agba enumerated that in Obudu and Bekwarra LGAs which had no light for almost six years they restored light, adding that, it is the advantage of having one of theirs as a Minister.
Jedy-Agba disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has also given him order to electrify six million homes in the state in before June 2021.
According to him, work has gone far in this direction, adding that much of the electricity will mostly be from solar power
the minister confirmed that federal government has already begun to install solar powered light and other projects in the Cross River North axis.
He also said that the APC government has dug several boreholes in many communities of Yala LGA.
Jedy-Agba also disclosed that federal government has approved the immediate construction not the Yala-Okpoma road.
“Federal government has done so much for Cross River State in recent times. We’re currently carrying out solar light projects in Obanliku, having restored electricity to Bekwara and Obudu after six years.
” We believe that to grow the local economy, we must create the favourable atmosphere by providing improved electricity.
“The President has given me mandate to electrify six million homes with solar power. In the next few months, we’ll kickoff the exercise and we’ll come to you to decide the homes to benefit from this.
Jedy-Agba said the present federal government has done so much for the state than any other, impressing on the youths and locals to enlist in the party.
He called on the Cross River youths to register in the local wards of APC as there were many goodies in the pipeline for them.
“So, for all these and many more that I have not mentioned and that would come, we need to join APC. APC will make us to reap the dividends of democracy. I encouraged young people to get involved in politics to bring the change they desire.
“To our great youths, I want to encourage them to get involved. The best form of protest is during election and the surest part for the youths to get more involved in politics is by joining the APC.”
Also speaking at the rally, former Executive Secretary of the National Planning Commission, Chief Fidelis Ugbo who hails from Obanliku, thanked the Minister for bringing the people together and urging them to join the party.
He said that the state would benefit more if the membership of the party grows hence, more people should come out and register.
The Minister was accompanied to the rally and revalidation by the Managing Director of Cross River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Bassey Nkposong, National Caretaker Organizing Secretary of the Party (South – South), Hon. Atsu Liberty, former member representing Obudu /Bekwarra /Obanliku federal constituency, Hon. Mike Ogah, Director, Nigerian Electricity Management Agency, Mr. Pius Achu, his Chief of Staff, Mr. Joel Dimla and many other top party leaders.
The rally had in attendance, all the Caretaker chapter Chairmen of the five local governments in the North, members of National registration committee sent to the state and thousands of party members.
