Traditional heads of Uko and Eneyo clans in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State, have appealed to Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, a spiritual organisation, to assist them build primary and secondary schools in their communities.

They have assured them that they will provide enough lands for the schools.

They made the request when a delegation of Cross River State Bishops’ Forums of the organization paid courtesy call on the traditional council of the two clans in Akpabuyo LGA.

Speaking on their behalf, His Royal Highness, Engr. Celestine Effiong Okon, clan head of Ikot Eneyo recalled that the spiritual organisation first started from its lands at Esuk Mba community before spreading out.

Okon said they appreciate its expansion but appeal that they reciprocate them as their first host communities.

“We need you to reciprocate by building, at least a school for us. You have done so in some other communities. You started from Esuk Mba, our land. We lack development. We need our children to go to school. Help us build a school. We are ready to provide the land,” he said.

Archbishop Barnabas Ogbonna who is coordinator of Bishops in the state assured that their request would be presented to leadership of the organisation.

Earlier, in a special message to the traditional heads, leader of the organisation, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu urged them to unite, express love amongst themselves,  lead with fear of God and cater for their subjects as they will account for their deeds.
