The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has called on Christians to have a change of heart and prepare for the coming of the Lord this Christmas.

Bishop Ezeokafor made the call at St Joseph’s Parish, Awka, during his pastoral visit to the Parish.

Our Correspondent reports that the Bishop, at the visit, conferred sacrament of confirmation on one hundred and twenty candidates.

The Prelate who spoke extensively on repentance and brotherly love among Christians said Christ Jesus comes at all times not only on Christmas, urging all to be at peace with God always so as to meet Christ.

Most Reverend Ezeokafor said that being at peace with God gives inner peace and joy, stressing the need for them to love one another, see themselves as friends and children of God.

Bishop Ezeokafor urged all to make Christ their personal saviour by repenting from their sins so that Christ will live in them.

He listed various committees in the church that work for the growth of the church, charging the parishioners to live in peace, harmony and understanding with their Parish Priest.

On the upcoming general elections, the Bishop called on all parishioners to have their Permanent Voter Cards in readiness to electing leaders that would better the lots of all Nigerians, making it clear that anyone who sells his or her vote is attracting the wrath of God.

The Parish Priest Saint Joseph Parish, Awka, Reverend father Nnaemeka Ezeokeke who welcomed the Bishop, prayed God to bless him abundantly as he takes care of the flock in his care.

In their various speeches, some of the newly confirmed faithful including Masters Dennis Christian and Kenneth thanked God for the opportunity to serve Him, promising to fight for the Catholic faith as ambassadors of the church.
