Chief of Wurkum in Taraba gives reason for embarking on Royal tour

The Chief of Wurkum Kingdom in Taraba State, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar Kirim has revealed that the recent tour across the northern region embarked upon by the chiefdom was to identify with his kinsmen scattered all over the region as result of community feud 200 years ago.
The Chief who was speaking with our correspondent in Jalingo shortly on arrival from a historic royal visit across the northern region said he considered the trip necessary to identify with his kinsmen and preach peace.
The royal father explained that part of the mission was to unite the entire Wurkum race both home and in diaspora since many have lost their identity (ancestral homes) and relatives as well appealed to them to return home and invest.
According to the monarch, the visit was the first of its kind ever in the kingdom and noted with joy that the exercise offered him an opportunity to meet and interact with his counterparts who also received him on arrival.
Alhaji Kirim who appreciated Governor Kefas for approving the tour with support to embark on the peace mission called on Tarabans to keep praying for the governor and his administration.
The royal father observed since May 29th 2023 to date the state under Governor Kefas’ watch has continued to progress as virtually all sectors in the state have witnessed one transformation change to the other, a development he confirmed his one year in office has superseded eight years of some other leaders.
On the national scene, particularly on the current hardship faced by Nigerians, the monarch appealed for calm and to intensify prayers, noting that there was no condition God cannot handle provided we call by his name while urging leaders of all levels not to be carried away by their positions and status since democracy is all about for peoples benefit and good governance.
It will be recalled that the royal monarch ascended the throne on May 11th 2023 following the demise of his father last year.
