A group of Christian clerics and youths joined Muslims in cleaning the Eid prayer ground in Kasuwar Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The interfaith gesture, led by Pastor Dr Yohanna Buru of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, was aimed at promoting religious tolerance and unity in the state.

Pastor Buru, accompanied by other Christian leaders including Rev. Danjuma Makama and youths from the Community Initiative to Promote Peace, said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen interfaith relations in southern Kaduna.

“We came here to support our Muslim brothers by cleaning the mosque surroundings to promote peace and unity,” Pastor Buru said, adding that the initiative has become an annual tradition.

Muslim leaders in the area, including Chief Imam Akilu Mohammed, expressed appreciation, describing the gesture as a major step towards deepening peaceful coexistence.

The group also extended Sallah greetings to Muslim faithful and urged wealthy individuals to support orphans, widows, and the needy during the festivities.

The Network of Peace Journalists (NPJ), which monitored the exercise, described it as a model of interfaith collaboration and urged communities across the country to emulate it.
