Christmas: ACCI President Chief Obegolu felicitates with Nigerians, Advocates for business-friendly 2025 budget

The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, extends his warmest greetings to all Nigerians and the members of the Chamber movement across the country as we celebrate the joy of the yuletide season.

In his Christmas message, Chief Obegolu reflected on the resilience of Nigerians in the face of economic challenges, expressing gratitude for the grace that has seen us through 2024. “Despite the hurdles we faced this year, we have every reason to thank God for life and the hope of a brighter tomorrow,” he said.

Addressing the business community, Chief Obegolu, SAN, PhD, encouraged optimism for a more prosperous year ahead. “As we step into 2025, I urge the business community to remain steadfast. This new year presents an opportunity for innovation, growth, and renewed collaboration to foster economic stability and progress. I believe that with the right policies and support, businesses will thrive, creating jobs and driving national development.”

He also expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones during the unfortunate stampedes that occurred during palliative distributions in Anambra, Oyo, and Abuja. He described these incidents as preventable and called for improved systems to ensure safety and dignity in the distribution of relief materials.

On the recently presented 2025 budget, Chief Obegolu, SAN, PhD emphasized the need for provisions that cater to the unique needs of the business sector while urging the government to prioritize policies that create a conducive environment for businesses to operate and thrive.

“The business community is the engine of economic growth. Therefore, the 2025 budget must address issues such as access to affordable financing, infrastructure development, and tax incentives that promote entrepreneurship and innovation,” he stated.
