The Executive Secretary, National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Dr Iyela Ajayi, has urged the Management and Staff of the Commission to uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency within the Commission.

Ajayi stated this at a one-day workshop for the management staff of the Commission, held recently in Abuja.

He reiterated that fighting against corruption is more critical than ever.

According to him, it’s not merely a legal or ethical obligation, but a fundamental pillar for effective governance, sustainable development, and public trust, given to every action we take, and every decision we make.

This, he said would contribute to building an environment, where accountability thrives and malpractice has no place to act.

Also, Head of Reform and ACTU, Mrs Mary Okwori, in her welcome remarks, urged the Management and Staff to make the Commission a model institution, where resources are deployed judiciously, Standards are upheld rigorously, and no staff member compromises.

Earlier, a Resource Person, who is also the Director, System Study Review Department, ICPC, Mr Olushegun Adigun, represented by the DD System Review Department, ICPC, Musa Mutiat, urged the management to act with Integrity, which will create clear evidence for others and staff to follow.

Musa said that this will foster a culture of honesty, transparency, and accountability within the commission.

She further highlighted in her presentation what Integrity is, the characteristics of Integrity leadership, what corruption is, what corruption risk factors are, and corruption risk Management.

According to her; when all are adhered to, it will result in transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in the operations of the commission, she said.
