Conduct referendum now, stop ill-treating Igbos – separatist leader, Chimezie
By Akpan David, Calabar
Founder of Biafra Nation League, (BnL), Princewill Chimezie Richards has called on the Federal Government to conduct a referendum for the people of the South East and South South immediately.
In a statement issued in Calabar, the separatist leader said the call is hinged on the government’s failure to revive the seaports in the region and other issues.
The separatist leader pointed out that Calabar had the first seaport, and was a historical town where colonial masters settled.
“Igbos were also sold during slave trade through Calabar port. Lagos does not have any historical record.”
He alleged that the peoples of the two regions were being treated as third class citizens.
Richards, a former Bakassi detainee, who had earlier cautioned against forceful eviction of Ibos in Lagos and other Western states, warned that his warnings do not come empty.
He boasted that he commands loyalists who take instructions from him.
Speaking on the nationwide protest, Richards said that the northerners had showcased their agenda of wanting a Russian invasion and Russian rule.
He said the Igbos especially his loyalists identify with Israel and will always do so.
