A former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and Director General of National Directorate of Employment, (NDE), His Excellency, Silas Ali Agara, has described the conferment of traditional title to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Professor Nentawe Yitwatda as commendable because of his zeal in the sustainable of democracy within Nigeria.
He made the remark after the ceremony at the J.S. Tarka Stadium, Gboko, Benue State.
According to him, the chairman is really trying in wooing more people from other political parties to the APC through good political appeal for the growth and development of the country.
Hon. Agara called on Nigerian to have confidence in the administration of President Bola Tinubu for they to derive the dividend of democracy.
HRM Orchivirigh Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, the Tor Tiv, conferred the historic chieftaincy title of ZEGEBAR-U-TIV on the APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda, and his wife, Dr. Martina Yitwatda, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to national unity, social harmony, and community development.
He described Yilwatda as someone that can be regarded as son and trusted ally, noting years of close working relationship and shared commitment to service.
In his remark, Yilwatda said: “I received with deep humility and profound gratitude the conferment of the highly revered Tiv traditional chieftaincy title, ZEGEBAR-U-TIV, on my wife, Dr. Martina Nentawe Yilwatda, and me by His Royal Majesty, Orchivirigh Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, the Tor Tiv, alongside the Tiv Traditional Council.
“This rare and deeply symbolic honour transcends personal recognition. It is a powerful affirmation of service, trust, and shared values, and a testament to the enduring bonds of unity and brotherhood between the peoples of Plateau and Benue States, and indeed the wider Middle Belt. We are profoundly grateful to the Tiv nation for this exceptional gesture of goodwill and affection.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to His Royal Majesty, the Tor Tiv, the Tiv Traditional Council, and the entire Tiv nation for this historic honour and for their enduring commitment to peace, justice, and unity. Thank you, Your Royal Majesty. Thank you, Tiv nation,” he said.
The title ZEGEBAR-U-TIV, which embodies courage, service, and steadfast leadership, places on us a renewed moral responsibility to continue advancing bridge-building, peaceful coexistence, inter-ethnic harmony, national unity, and inclusive community development.
