Constitute board members, hospital staff cries out to Taraba Governor, Darius over allege misconduct

Disturbed by lack of constituted board members at the state specialist hospital Jalingo, following expiration of
tenure of the past members, notable staff officers at the hospital have send SOS to Gov. Darius Ishaku to
urgently constitute new board members to save the hospital from total embracement.
This however was unconnected with alleged misconduct, mismanagement of funds by the authority of the
hospital and fighting during office hours by high ranking officers.
In a petition made available to our correspondent in Jalingo and copy to office of the governor, house of
assembly committee on health matters, commissioner for health, public complaints commission and the
national human rights commission Jalingo respectively and signed by staff officer of the hospital, Job Fwanya
Kaduna appealed to the governor to rescue the hospital from collapse by constituting new board members as
the hospital facility was at the state of disrepair.
According to the petition, the management was allegedly accused of sentimental, lack of accountability,
negligence of seniority and resistance to new changes among other mal-administration.
The petition further stated that absence of board members has caused the hospital operating as private entity
(entrepreneur) with invisible management as members of the (community and sick ones) now refers to
different hospitals/Centre within and outside the state for medical check-ups and treatments.
In a similar vein, the petition also reported a case between two senior officers of the hospital who engage on a
public fight during official hours.
According to the petition, the assistant director of administration (ADA) name withheld allegedly slapped an
officer also name withheld, who discovered that the new assistant director of administration who recently
converted and promoted was still handling official schedules meant for him contrary against the civil service
rule.
However the petition which was addressed to office of the head of service (HOS) and copied to relevant
agencies in the state which include office of Bureau for establishment and record, national human rights
commission, office of chief medical director (CMD), and office of director of administration respectively and
signed by Mr. Job Fwanya Kaduna narrated his ordeal and called on appropriate authority and agencies in the
state to look into his petition and invoke necessary disciplinary action against misconduct in the civil service
rule as prescribed by law.
