Council polls: African Democratic Congress candidate, Jaba LG in Kaduna, Hon. Gyet promises better education if elected

Ahead of next week local government elections in Kaduna State, the candidate vying for the seat of chairman of Jaba local government council under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Alhamdu Bala Gyet, promised to carry out an aggressive approach to ensure a total overhaul in the educational system that aimed in providing a conducive learning environment for the younger ones through; good policy implementation, and supporting the state government in promoting free, compulsory and qualitative education, with special interest in girl-child education.
He said they shall compliment the state government’s scholarship by setting of a scholarship scheme that could help brilliant children from disadvantage and poor background to actualize their potentials.
Hon. Alhamdu, who expressed this in an interaction with newsmen in Kwoi, Jaba local government headquarters of Kaduna state, said when elected, he will also look on areas of interest that include; capacity building, agriculture, infrastructure, provision/sustainability of portable water supply and to promote sport and youth development.
“Our agenda is to run an inclusive system that has to do with Jaba where everyone will be on a driver seat with a sole aim of salvaging our beloved local government from underdevelopment through taking the path of responsibility and accept the challenge of contributing the required sacrifice and selfless service toward having a better local government of our dream.” He said
On wealth creation and capacity building, Alhamud promised to restore Local Economic Empowerment and Development (LEED) program for sustainable wealth creation, poverty reduction and value re-orientation.
“We shall encouraged entrepreneurship by investing in skills acquisition training in handcraft, petty and small scale businesses with seed capital to our youths to enable them to be productive, self reliance and discouraged youth’s restiveness.”
On sustainability of portable water supply, the candidate promised to ensure the provision of clean and accessible drinking water to communities that are in dire need, and also carry out rehabilitation of the existing hand pump and solar motorizing boreholes in the communities where the facilities are in dilapidated shape.
“We will also engage I’m construction of new roads, maintenance and tarring dilapidated township roads within our communities, construction of feeder roads to connect our villages to enhance our communal relationship, easy evacuation of farm produce from farm to homes and market and thus encouraged ease of doing business withing our locals.”
As the candidate ensured proper rural electrification to villages, also promised to support sporting activities to foster peace, unity and development within the youths.
