The Chairman of the APC in the Gayam Ward of Lafia Local Government Area of the state, Ibrahim Iliyasu had dragged Bello to court following his refusal to step down from office after he was suspended by the executive members of the ward over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.

Our correspondent reports leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Gayam Ward of Lafia LGA led by the chairman, Ibrahim Iliyasu had on Tuesday in Lafia, suspended Hon. Aliyu Bello over alleged Anti-party activities.
During a press conference, they explained that the actions of Bello had caused embarrassment to the party, and undermined the credibility of their collective efforts to take the party to greater heights.
His words, “We, the undersigned Executive Members of the All Progressives Congress, Gayam Ward in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, hereby write to formally suspend you, Hon. Aliyu Bello from the party (All Progressives Congress) with immediate effect.
“This decision arises as a result and investigation of complaints by ward members of your anti-party activities contrary to Article 21 of the APC Constitution (as amended) which outlines the conduct expected of members and the disciplinary measures to be taken against infractions.”
Our correspondent also reports that on Wednesday, some other executive members of the ward led by the Assistant Secretary, Adamu Bawa, dissociated themselves from the suspension of the state’s party Chairman over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
Bawa claimed that the action of Iliyasu’s group were taken without consultation, quorum, or the consent of the Gayam Ward Executive Committee.
