COVID-19: Anambra health Commissioner Okpala inspects protection centres

Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okplala has inspected some of the protection centers in Anambra State.
Our correspondent reports that facilities visited were, COVID-19 Protection Centre, Umuawulu, Awka South Council Area and COVID-19 Protection Centre at Onitsha General Hospital.
According to him, the Umuawulu facility has two hundred and forty beds, with Oxygen Concentrators, Patients Monitor, Electric suction Machines among other relevant medical equipment.
Dr. Okpala explained that the protective Care Centre at Onitsha has fifty-eight beds, Umueri General Hospital, twenty beds and Aguleri Protection Centre ten beds.
Commissioner Okpala added that there are other protection centers at the Namdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka, as well as surge centers in the state.
Dr. Okpala, who disclosed that Anambra State government is highly determined to ensuring that Coronavirus does not enter the state, commended Governor Willie Obiano for the proactive steps his administration has taken so far to contain the virus.
The Health Commissioner urged Ndi Anambra and other residents to assist the government, by observing all the stipulated preventive guidelines given by both the Anambra State government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC), for the good of all.
