COVID-19 lockdown: How US-based Nigeria-born cleric, Bishop Aniefiok Jacob rescued needy woman
Bishop Jacob, the donor
The video of a woman and her family who was found crying and wailing in pains and hunger some days ago due to the biting effect of the present lockdown in the state along Nwaniba Road caught the attention of a good Samaritan in Diaspora, Bishop Aniefiok Jacob, a US citizen.
The good Samaritan on watching the video online was so compassionate and he directed Akan Emah, a Rotarian in Nigeria to trace and meet the woman. Akan Emah , who we learnt from the woman, had earlier sent a package to her, ensured that he again visited the woman with Bishop Aniefiok’s package.
The food items and cash being handed over to the woman
On getting to the woman at her residence along Nwaniba, Rotarian Emah met with the family, he donated bags of rice, beans, carton of indomie and cash as directed by the donor.
Rotarian Emah made the beneficiary to speak with the donor who on hearing her plights, offered to sponsor one of her child all through secondary education to ease the pains of the family.
Rotarian Emah acknowledges the help and timely intervention of God in her situation. In his words government cannot help everyone at the same time although they can help some people.
If God can appoint someone in far away US to take the bite of the lockdown off a family, it then proves that despite COVID-19, blessings can come in disguise to anybody. May God bless the donor.
