COVID-19:Adamawa Governor Fintiri donates N20m palliative to KEKE NAPEP operators

The Adamawa State Government has donated N20million palliative to KEKE NAPEP operators in the state to cushion the hardship caused by lock down due to coronavirus pandemic.
This was contained in a press statement Monday by Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou.
The statement quoted Governor Ahmadu Fintiri as saying government considered the critical transport sector especially the Keke-Napep Operators hit by the 14-day lockdown and released the sum to the association to cushion the impact.
Governor Fintiri also appreciates especially the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives for donating N2.5million, Alhaji Musa Garba a businessman and philanthropist who donated N2million and a facility to serve as a containment centre when the need arises.
The statement also appreciates the United Bank for Africa (UBA) for pledging N28.5million at a time the world is facing an unprecedented challenge with communities and economies everywhere affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor commended the patriotism and the ultimate sacrifice and understanding of the citizens of the state towards combating the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic.
Governor on behalf of the Adamawa State COVID-19 Containment Committee expressed the gratitude of the government to all who responded by supporting the battle to flatten the curve.
He said “the outpouring solidarity and support sparked by this shared challenge has been phenomenal” and this informed Government’s intervention through the provision of food items for distribution to the vulnerable across the 21 local government areas of the state.
Governor Fintiri appealed to well-meaning citizens to emulate the good gestures of the donor’s, assuring that donations received will go towards funding the strategic preparedness and response plan.
He however appealed to all to ensure they adhere to basic practices of hand washing, social distancing and proper hygiene.
