Two separate graduation ceremonies in Cross River State turned into powerful moments of inspiration as federal and state government officials reaffirmed their commitments to youth development, patriotism, and educational excellence.
The twin events held separately at Cross River Basin Primary and Nursery School. Calabar and Nigerian Navy Secondary Scool Akpabuyo LGA.
At the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, the Chief of Staff to Governor Bassey Otu, Dr. Emmanuel Ironbar, encouraged the graduating students to uphold the spirit of patriotism instilled in them during their formative years.
Represented by Barr. Gilbert Agbor, Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Dr. Ironbar charged the graduands to carry forward the values of discipline, respect, integrity, and service to Nigeria.
“Your journey has been defined by hard work and commitment,” Ironbar said. “As you step into new phases of life, carry with you the core values of patriotism. The nation needs your innovation and patriotism now more than ever.”
Describing the occasion as a celebration of perseverance and character, he reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to strengthening the education system and providing youth with platforms to thrive.
The Commandant of the school, Mohammed Dalhatu, echoed the sentiment, assuring that the school will continue to maintain its proud tradition of molding future leaders through discipline and knowledge. Highlights of the day included a parade and award presentations, showcasing the precision and training of the students.
In Calabar, a similar message of hope and encouragement resonated as the management of Cross River Basin Development Authority (CRBDA) joined the graduation ceremony of the Cross River Basin Primary and Nursery School.
Managing Director of the Authority, Mrs. Glory Ekpo Oho, reaffirmed the agency’s unwavering support for the school and its pupils.
Mrs. Oho, who led a delegation of directors and executives, charged the children to remain dedicated to learning, stressing that sustained institutional support was key to their future growth.
“We remain committed to ensuring you have what you need to advance your dreams,” she said.
She praised the school’s management and teachers for their dedication to nurturing young minds.
The event featured lively performances and the presentation of certificates, drawing praise from parents and teachers alike, who lauded Mrs. Oho’s leadership and impact on the school community.
Together, both events painted a hopeful picture of Cross River’s investment in education — one grounded in values, vision, and vibrant leadership.
