Chairman of Akpabuyo local government, Emmanuel Offiong Bassey has alleged that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is planning to import mercenaries to disrupt the by-election in his council tomorrow.
In a release, Bassey claimed that he made the allegation on good authority.
“It has come to our notice that the PDP in the state are planning to cause problems in tomorrow’s by- election in Akpabuyo using merceneries who are planning to enter through the creeks of the local government”.
On another development,
The Akpabuyo local government chairman has ordered that no vehicular movements and motorcycles will be allowed through out the period of the election except those on election duties tomorrow.
He advised that every voter should be
confined within his or her polling unit through out the period of the exercise to avoid any embarrassment
The chairman warned that anyone found violating the order will be arrested and prosecuted according to the laws.
He urged residents of Akpabuyo to be guided and work within the confines of the law as no body who violates the law would be spared no matter that person’s position in the society
The chairman advice the youths of the area not to allow themselves to be used for thuggery by anybody.
