Delta assembly: CUPP endorses Ajudua for another tenure

Ten political parties under the aegis of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) have endorsed the Member representing Oshimili North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly and Chief Whip of the House, Princess Pat Ajudua as the sole candidate for Saturday’s
House of Assembly election in Oshimili North Constituency.
The endorsement which is coming barely five days to the governorship and state House of Assembly elections, affirmed the resolve of candidates of other political parties for the Oshimili North Constituency seat, to support and work for the victory of Hon. Pat Ajudua who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the election.
The political parties which endorsed the third term member lawmaker, who is also the Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, are Kowa Party, Action Alliance (AA), Independent Democrats (ID), African People’s Alliance (APA), Accord Party, People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN), among others.
The state Chairman CUPP and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter Party Relations, Chief Josiah Efetobor said; “Having viewed and accessed the performance of Princess Pat Ajudua as a legislator, the political parties decided to endorse her as the sole candidate for the House of Assembly election for Oshimili North Constituency.”
He said that among the 29 House of Assembly members, candidates of political parties for the House of Assembly seat in Oshimili North Constituency under CUPP decided to step down only for Hon. Pat Ajudua, to enable her return, to continue her effective and robust representation of the people.
Chief Edetobor said that CUPP has also adopted Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as their consensus candidate for Saturday’s governorship election, stressing that the state was a PDP state.
Also speaking, the state governorship Candidate of Green Party of Nigeria,
Dr. Anthony Clarke Majebi noted that political parties in the state have endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the March 9 governorship election, to enable him consolidate on his numerous achievements across the state.
The various House of Assembly candidates for Oshimili North who stepped down and endorsed Hon. Pat Ajudua, including Anthonia Chidi of Accord Party, Mrs. Uche Chidima of Kowa Party, I.K. Modigwu of Action Alliance, Prince Victor Okolo-Abah of Mega Party, among others said that they decided to step down and endorse Hon. Ajudua for continuity, describing her as a legislator per excellence, who has attracted several developments to the constituency.
They said that they have mobilised their teeming supporters to vote for Hon. Pat Ajudua.
Others who spoke, including the state Chairman of MRDD, Engr. Johnson Ajeboghuku and Prince Jude Eze, said that the decision to endorse Hon. Pat Ajudua by the political parties was borne out of the fact that she has done well and there was need for her to continue, saying that she is a dynamic leader and embodiment of motherhood.
Reacting to her endorsement, Hon. Pat Ajudua said that she was overwhelmed
by the show of love and support by the political parties and their candidates, to step down and affirm her as the sole candidate for the election, describing the development as commendable.
She promised to do more for the people and urged them to rally support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s re-election, stressing that more development projects would be attracted to the area.
The Director-General of Pat Ajudua Campaign Organisation, Sir Felix Ndukwe thanked the political parties and their candidates for endorsing Hon. Pat Ajudua, saying that it was a right step as everybody will be carried along.
