It is cheap political blackmail to ask the South-South States to account for 13 per cent derivation money whereas the Federal and other state governments do account for money got from allocations.

The Delta State Commissioner of Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu canvassed this view Tuesday while speaking to newsmen in Asaba.

Mr. Aniagwu said the 13 per cent derivation was a constitutional issue and not a dash from the Federal.

He asked the Federal government to account for its share of revenue and explain to Nigerians the huge debt burden of the Federal government.

The Information Commissioner argued that Delta State was not against accountability and transparency, adding that the Federal government, States and Local Governments should also give account of revenue received.

He maintained that Delta State government was very transparent in its financial dealings and scout ready to open its books for public scrunity.

On the APC presidential candidate Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu appearance before Chatham House, London, Mr. Aniagwu apologized to the international community, adding that Nigerians were knowledgable people.

He further explained that the behavior of Tinubu not answering questions and directing them to his aides, was a character perculiar to Tinubu only.

Mr. Aniagwu therefore pleaded that the international community should not judge other Nigerians by Tinubu standard.
