Vice Chancellor, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Mohammed during the novelty match

Despite the ongoing nationwide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), other non academic activities continue at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi especially towards its 6th combined convocation on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
As such, a novelty football match between the academic staff and non-teaching staff took place at the sports arena of the university on Saturday. The thrilling and very entertaining encounter ended 2-1 in favour of academic team.
Among those who got their names on the score sheet were the Vice-Chancellor and captain of Team Academic, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed with one goal and Professor J. C Onovo of the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences who also scored one goal, while Nurse Lawal of team non-teaching staff scored a goal for his side.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed told Apex News Exclusive on telephone that the novelty match speaks volume in the kind of relationship that exist between the academic and non academic staff.
According to him, the match was not only to mark the upcoming convocation but to strengthen relationship and enhance health fitness among staff of the university.
