Nigerian Christians have been urged not to despair in the face of the myriad of security challenges currently facing the country making life more difficult but to instead continue to fill the gap through prayers for restoration.
The call was made by the Vice Chairman of Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) Bauchi State council, Rev Sunday Olobo while speaking at the annual revival program of the Council in Bauchi stressing that as believers in God, Christians must always stand in the gaps.
He said that, “we are all aware that things have gone really bad in this country, no one is sure of what happens next, situations are terrible. But, in the face of all these, we need to stand firmly in faith. We need to raise our voices to God for divine intervention”.

The Clergyman admonished Christian to stop speaking evil about the country and the government even though it is to be held responsible for the situation but should rather prophesy positively about the country.
He said that, “yes, we had high hopes in 2015 that things will get better but our hopes have been dashed. That does not mean that we should continue to lament, no, we should raise our voices and hearts to God for the healing of the land”.
“We are yearning for restoration because things have gone bad, we only have to tell God what situation we are going through, He is aware but He wants us to remind Him. Let us use the revival program to stand in the gap for Nigeria”, He stressed.
Sunday Olobo who expressed confidence that Nigeria will not break no matter the amount of pressure however warned the leaders in the country not take the grace of God for granted saying that doing such will be a costly mistake.
Also speaking, Bauchi State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Rev Dr Abraham Damina Dimeus stressed the importance of cooperate prayers by all Christians in the country if the situation in Nigeria must be salvaged.
The CAN Chairman lamented that the body of Christ in Nigeria is divided along denominational line which development he opined is not good for the Christian body if the persecution of the Church must be stopped.
He however called for serious and fervent prayers for the country so that God will look down and avert the imminent danger ahead.
The 2021 4 days revival program holding at All Saints Methodist Church, Rafin Zurfi, Bauchi has as its theme ‘We ask for Restoration O Lord’.
