DPR urges rig owners, others to embrace modern technology
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has urged Rig Operators and Oil and Gas Producing Servicing Companies to key into modern technology to maximise their operations.
The Warri Zonal Operations Controller, Mr Antai Asuquo, gave the advice on Friday at the “2018 Annual Tripartite Conference of Regulators, Rig Owners and Oil and Gas Operators” in Warri.
Asuquo, who coordinated the programme, told newsmen shortly after the event that the industry was a critical sector in the economy, urging them to carry out their operations in a sustainable manner.
He said that the regulatory agency was committed to ensuring investors in the industry to reap the benefit of their investment by way of providing them with useful advice at all time.
Commenting, Dr Kawekwune Nnamdi, the Senior Geophysicist, Subsurface Department with Sterling Exploration and Energy Production Company (SEEPCO), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines that the meeting was timely.
Nnamdi said: “It has exposed the participants to what is required of us to have harmonious working relationship with the DPR and we are collaborating to increase production.” (NAN)
