‎Dr. Phillips O. Salawu’s 3R Policy Agenda to Reposition PDP

Dr. Phillips Omeiza Salawu, B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD, D.Sc (Hc), PhD(Hc), FCA,FCIB,FCS, FCTI, FFIA, FCCrFA, FCCFI, CPFA,AICMC, LLB, BL., is a man of focus and clear direction. He never does anything half measure. He is very calculative, assertive and thorough. His determination to lead the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as her National Chairman is not for self-aggrandizement but to reposition the party to winning ways and has the full support of majority of members of the PDP.

‎Dr. Salawu, the pioneer Director of Finance of the party and former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, has marshalled out 3Rs not only to redirect the party but also to have the confidence of Nigerians on the PDP. These Rs are: RECONCILIATION, RECONSTRUCTION and RESTORATION.
‎Under RECONCILIATION, Dr. Salawu will reconcile the differences amongst the competing interests within the party and be fair to all concerned, to establish the needed unity.
‎For RECONSTRUCTION, he would rebuild the entire structure and make the party more competitive and more responsive to its environments.
‎In RESTORATION, he will restore back, the glorious position of the party in the Emerging Power Dynamics of the Nigerian State.
‎Surely, Dr. Salawu is equipped with the following instruments that will enable him lead the team that will carry out the above 3–point agenda. These are: CAPACITY. He has adequate knowledge of the Nigerian Socio-Political environment and its geo-political complexities in the National Power Calculus.
‎EXPERIENCE: Dr. Salawu had been at the party’s National Secretariat from Day One in August 1998 and holding the sensitive portfolio as the First National Director of Finance. He knows the history of the party from the onset to date.
‎INTEGRITY: No doubt his historical records in the banking-private sector, at the Party’s National Headquarters in Abuja FCT and during his Public Service as a Deputy Governor in Lokoja, Kogi State are a testament of his integrity.
‎CONTRIBUTION: He has offered his intellectual, technical, professional, institutional, material and logistic resources for the foundation and consolidation of the party’s control of National Political Power from 1999 to 2015.
‎ABILITY TO MANAGE CRISES: Dr. Salawu is a Chartered Mediator and a Chartered Conciliator. He will apply his technical and professional skills to manage the emerging party crises and reconcile the differences in opinions.
‎RESPECT FOR THE PARTY’S CONSTITUTION AND THE RULE OF LAW:As a lawyer, he will respect the party’s constitution on its supremacy.
‎ABILITY TO ENFORCE PARTY DISCIPLINE: He is reasonable, rational, fearless, courageous, firm but fair and just, in discharging his known responsibilities. He listens to all arguments and eventually he will be decisive on the way forward.
‎FEAR OF GOD: Dr. Salawu is a God-fearing man that will ensure and enforce fairness, equity and justice, to all and sundry.

‎Dr. Salawu is an Astute Politician, the First National Director of Finance of the PDP, 1998–2002; a PDP Deputy Governor of Kogi State 2003–2012, a PDP BoT Member, an Academic Star from GSS Okene, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, London School of Economics & Political Science, Emily Woolf College of Accountancy in High Holborn London, University of Jos, Baze University Abuja FCT, and the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus.
‎He made Division One with Distinction at his WASCE, First Class Distinction at his B.Sc. Accounting Degree Program and won all the prime academic prizes for the B.Sc degree in Accounting; he led his PhD Class in the Course Work Program at the PhD degree program in Accounting and Finance.
‎He is a Financial Technocrat, a Chartered Corporate Accountant, a Chartered Public Finance Accountant, a Chartered Banker, a Chartered StockBroker, a Chartered Tax Consultant, a Chartered Mediator & Conciliator, a Certified Forensic Auditor, a Lawyer, a Barrister and a Solicitor at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
