Dr. Wunti condoles with Channels TV, NUJ, media professionals over demise of Ben

Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of Mr. Kani Ben, a dedicated cameraman with Channels Television, who passed away in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, following spinal surgery necessitated by injuries sustained in a road traffic accident.

The late journalist was among media professionals covering the commissioning and handing over of projects executed by the North-East Development Commission alongside the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari, when the unfortunate incident occurred.

In a statement signed by Usman Abdullahi Koli, Dr. Wunti described Kani Ben as a committed and highly professional cameraman who exemplified passion and dedication to duty.

He noted that journalists of his calibre play a critical role in documenting developmental strides and keeping the public well informed, often while working under demanding and challenging conditions.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the management and staff of Channels Television, the Nigeria Union of Journalists Bauchi State Council, and media practitioners across the country, acknowledging the profound loss to the journalism profession. He also prayed for comfort and strength for the bereaved family and asked Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

Dr. Wunti further expressed hope for the full and speedy recovery of other journalists who sustained injuries in the accident, praying that they regain their health and safely return to their families and professional responsibilities.

He reaffirmed his deep respect and appreciation for media practitioners whose unwavering commitment to public service continually places them on the front lines of national development efforts.
