Senator Sam Egwu

The first civilian Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Sam Egwu has appealed to stakeholders to allow Izzi clan produce the next governor after David Umahi in 2023.
Egwu who is presently representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District also made it clear that PDP has zoning arrangement both at the national and state levels.
He made this known on Saturday at his country home in Ngbo, Ohankwu Local Government Area of the state when he received a senatorial nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the G-15 group.
The group led by Mr. Victor Nwoke had purchased 2023 senatorial form for Sen. Egwu to contest the position for the third time.
His words; “As long as am alive I will continue to support Izzi to produce the next governor of the state why because I’m not always happy seeing what is due to you to be taken away.
“But I thank God that those who did not earlier agree with me on the course are the one spearheading it now that it must come to Ebonyi North and Izzi in particular and I will continue to appeal to stakeholders on this course.
“And on the issue of zoning, I want to assure you people that PDP has zoning both at the National and state levels,” he explained.
Earlier, Nwoke who presented the form on behalf of his group said the gesture was to reciprocate the good deeds in both services and humanity of the former governor.
He further stated that the group seek the approval of both stakeholders, youths and women from Izzi clan before the purchase was made.
