Stakeholders in Ndinwanba community in Izzi local government area of Ebonyi State Friday said that the people of the area were in need of new health facility.
The community also called on state government and other health partners to come to their aid owing to reason that the existing healthcare centre in their area cannot accommodate more than three patients.
The Assistant Social Health Mobilization in the council headquarters, Mr Peter Ntishi made this call on behalf of the community during USAID-IHP open Maternity outreach held in the area.
His words: “You can see that they don’t have a structure, it’s this one room structure they are using.
“So think what it will look like when one person comes in to get treated for malaria another for ante-natal, another in labour and another for family planning essentially at this period we are calling for social distancing inline with COVID-19 protocol.
“That is why we are appealing to government and USAID-IHP to provide us with a befitting health structure. We have a space (land) the community has already mapped out for such a thing.
“Therefore, on behalf of the community I wish to use this opportunity to inform you that we solicited for better Health facility to be built in Ndinwanba community,” he asked.
