El-Kanemi Warriors FC, Maiduguri beats hard fighting Green Berets

Match day 14 saw the unbeaten group A1 leaders of the Niegeria National League, Elkanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri slugging it out with rugged and hard fighting Green Berets football Club of Zaria in the second stanza of league.
The visitors in Maiduguri played their usual hard tackle football that refused the homers the rhythm that will fetch a goal in the first half of the game to end it goalless. However Elkanemi made frantic efforts in the visitor’s vital area but recorded no goal.
On resumption for the second half Elkanemi mounted pressure on the Green Berets to penetrate the 18 of the visitors with a chance to fire home, only for the green Berets defender to cut in and hack down Elkanemi player for a resultant penalty that was neatly converted by Zakka Bala in the 10th minute of the game.
Elkanemi settled down and played their normal beautiful game without delay by the visitor who used delay approach in every infringement before the goal. Zakka Bala made it 2 for the Warriors with a long cross that caught the visitors Goalkeeper napping to concede the second goal for Elkanemi in the 79th minute.
The warriors later mounted series of attack to increase the tally but poor finishing made the scores remained 2-0 in favor of the Borno darling team.

Elkanemi Warriors remained unbeaten since the league started with 26 points from twelve matches.
Towards the end of the match the visitors caused some tension and misunderstanding when an already submitted player of Green Berets abused the match officials which made the center referee to give the player the marching order that didn’t go down well with Green Berets officials.
