Ember months: FRSC begins operation in Bogoro local government, warns road users against breaking traffic rules

Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Iliya Habila has drawn the attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to the alarming rate of road accidents which has claimed lives and incapacitated others in the area.
The Chairman revealed this when speaking to Unit Officers of the Corps in his office on Tuesday calling for urgent action in order to check the spate in line with road traffic rules and regulations.
Habila also observed that ahead of the ’ember’ months, there is mass movement of people from one area to another charging the FRSC personnel in the area to wake up to their responsibility.
He further said that road accidents which have left some people dead and injured is of great concern to him; hence the need for all drivers and motorists plying the area to drive with care cannot be overemphasized.
Habila appealed to all drivers and motorists in the area to drive with care and avoid unnecessary over speeding and rough driving during and after this festive period.
While responding, Mr. Babale T Sallah, the Unit Commander disclosed that a combined team of the Police, NSCDC and the FRSC on Tuesday began a crackdown of all drivers and motorists violating safety and other traffic guidelines.
Mr. Sallah assured the Chairman and all those concerned that the FRSC will do everything possible to curtail road accidents in the LGA warning that anyone caught violating traffic rules will be dealt with in accordance with the relevant laws.
He then assured that the FRSC personnel will work round the clock during the ’ember’ months period to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and new year celebration as contained in a statement by, Gomna James Information Officer, Bogoro LGA.
