Emir of Keffi crowns Grand Patron Pankshin Old Boys, honours Nansak’s book launch

His Royal Highness Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, PhD, CON, Emir of Keffi was in Jos, capital of Plateau State at the weekend. The Emir attended two different functions, in one, he was formally crowned the Grand Patron of his Alma Mater, Pankshin Old Boy’s Association (POBA) at Government College Pankshin in Plateau State on Saturday. But before the investiture the monarch attended a book launch of one of his loyalists, a journalist Francis Nansak, in Jos on Friday.

The prestigious event of POBA took place on 30th November, 2024 was well attended by a galaxy of dignitaries, including Keffi stalwarts under the leadership of Prince Abdullahi Attajiri, Baraden Keffi. Nasarawa State Government functionary led by the Executive Governor was ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Muhammad Aliyu Ubandoma, and galaxies of Nasarawa State traditional rulers. Plateau State Governor was ably represented by Hon. Ibrahim Musa Ashona, Commissioner for Information Plateau State. Prominent POBA members, and other prominent personalities from Plateau State were among those who graced the occasion. For note was a one time gubernatorial aspirant in 2023, Mr Kefas Rohshak who pledged to build a “Skills Acquisition and Craft Centre” for the school and the centre to be named after the Emir of Keffi.

The Emir’s installation as Grand Patron being the first in the history of the association was a testament to his exemplary leadership, wisdom, and contributions to education, cultural heritage, and community development. As a renowned advocate for youth empowerment and education, the Emir’s patronship is expected to inspire and motivate POBA members to strive for excellence.

“We are honored to have His Royal Highness as our Grand Patron,” said Mr Kenzy Ngupar, the National President of POBA.

“His wisdom, guidance, and support will undoubtedly take our association to greater heights.” He said.

In his acceptance speech, the Emir expressed gratitude to POBA for the honor done to him and pledged to support the association’s initiatives and activities.

He posited that “I am committed to empowering our youth and promoting education, which is the bedrock of our society. I look forward to working with POBA to achieve our shared goals.”The emir promised.

At separate time in their speeches the governor of Plateau and Nasarawa States expressed great joy in the historic event and the honour conferred on the emir of Keffi, saying it goes to proved that despite the separation of the two states for administrative purpose unity and together still exist.

The ceremony was marked by traditional dances, musical performances, and a keynote address by a distinguished guest speaker.
