Mr Emmanuel Ogbeche of Abuja Enquirer defeated Mr Donald Ugwu of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) to retain his position as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Council.
In the election Saturday at the NUJ Press Centre, Abuja, Ogbeche defeated Ugwu by 451 votes to 59.
Ogbeche would now lead the Council for another three years.
