Community Primary School, Isimkpuma Ndieze Okpoto, in Ebonyi State was filled with tears of joy, singing, and spontaneous dancing as CSP Nwode Nkeiruka, a former Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, came to the rescue of the school with a generous donation of desks, school bags, and shoes.
CSP Nwode, who currently serves as the Police Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters Annex in Lagos, was moved to act after seeing a heartbreaking social media post highlighting the severe shortage of essential learning materials at the school. What started as a call for help on social media quickly transformed into a life changing moment for the pupils and the entire community.
Eyewitnesses recounted how the entire village stood in disbelief when a truck filled with desks pulled into the school compound. It wasn’t long before the joy was overwhelming: the items were indeed intended for the much needed school, which had been long neglected.
The school’s Headmistress, visibly moved by the unexpected gesture, expressed her astonishment: “I was completely dumbfounded. When I first saw the truck, I never imagined it was for us. When I realized it was, I couldn’t hold back my tears. This is truly a miracle.”
Teachers, students, and local residents erupted in joyous songs, dancing around the school grounds, offering thanks and prayers for the generous donor, who they described as “a blessing at the perfect moment.”
Many students, who had previously sat on broken benches or the cold floor, were seen happily clutching their new school bags and sandals, their faces lit up with smiles after years of hardship.
In her remarks, Princess Nwode, known for her philanthropic work, explained that the donation was part of her ongoing commitment to giving back to the community. “It may seem like a small gesture, but providing basic learning tools makes a real difference in the lives of children. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to contribute in this meaningful way.”
She also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force for encouraging officers to make a positive impact beyond their official duties. “I want to sincerely thank the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his support in allowing me to serve the community in this way,” she added.
Residents of Isimkpuma Ndieze Okpoto described the donation as a timely and transformative intervention, urging other Nigerians to follow suit. They emphasized that quality education starts with providing children with the essential tools they need to learn and succeed.
For the pupils of this rural Ebonyi school, the donation was not just a material gift, but a symbol of hope and dignity a reminder that their voices, even through social media, can reach those who are willing to make a difference.
