SDP Taraba State governorship candidate, Hon Danladi Baido

As Christians celebrate this year’s Christmas, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Taraba State, Hon. Danladi Baido has implored Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ.
He said by celebrating Christmas, Christians must follow the footsteps of the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ in all aspects.
Hon. Baido made the remarks in a statement issued on his behalf by his Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Maliki in Jalingo, Taraba State.
According to him, the birth of Jesus brings love, peace, togetherness and brotherhood which must be exemplified by all.
He stressed that it is important for Christians to follow the teachings of Jesus, who was born to fulfil the purpose and promises of God for mankind.
Hon. Baido said Christ’s birth was God’s gift of love to humanity which marked a new beginning of hope and salvation for the believers.
The SDP governorship candidate also pointed out that these virtues must not start and end during Christmas but throughout the existence of life.
He said it is by so doing that the world would be a better place to live without conflict but love, peace and charity with everybody irrespective of religion.
Turning to leaders of the Church in the state, Hon. Baido appealed to preach unity among all sections of the society de-emphazing tribe and creed in the process.
For the political class, the SDP candidate urged them not heat up the polity as electioneering campaigns get underway in full swing.
He said it is God that gives leadership positions and so they must desist from campaign of Divide and Rule but of peace and progress.
As such, Hon. Baido urged Christians in Taraba State to pray earnestly for a peaceful election in the state and Nigeria in general.
While wishing Christians a merry Christmas, Hon. Baido appealed to the people of the state to vote the SDP during next year’s elections to usher in a new dawn in prosperity, development and peaceful coexistence.
