The suspect

Anambra State Police Command has arrested one Nonso Eze male, thirty-seven of number six Orakwe close, Awada Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State for allegedly pushing down his girlfriend from the fifth floor of a five story building following a quarrel.
The victim, about twenty-three years, whose name and address is yet unknown, was rushed to the hospital for treatment but was confirmed dead on arrival.
A release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed for Commissioner of Police, said Police operatives attached to Awada Division, who received the report on Saturday morning at about half past six in the morning, visited the scene, took photos of the victim and rushed her to Bex Hospital Onitsha for medical attention but was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
According to the release, preliminary inquiry from the occupants of the compound revealed that the girl was allegedly pushed down from the room of the suspect, who was subsequently arrested and search executed in his apartment showed a pair of female slippers and unused condom serving as exhibits.
The release further stated that the corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy while investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident after which suspect would be brought to book.
