Fantswam Foundation, in collaboration with the Foreign Commonwealth Development Association (UK), has commissioned the Bayan Loko Albarka Connectivity Hub, a digital skills centre aimed at promoting digital inclusion in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The facility is designed to equip beneficiaries—particularly women and youth—with information and communication technology (ICT) skills to enhance self-reliance and employability in the digital economy.

Commissioning the project, the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, commended the UK Government and Fantswam Foundation for situating the centre in Kafanchan, saying it aligns with Governor Uba Sani’s agenda on skills acquisition and youth empowerment.

Dogara announced a donation of ₦500,000 to support the smooth take-off of the project and assured the management of Fantswam Foundation of continued support from the local government council.

He also urged prospective beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity to acquire digital skills.

Earlier, the Director of the Initiative for Digital Inclusion of the Foreign Commonwealth Development Association, Osondu Nwakolo, said the project was conceived to ensure that more communities have access to digital skills and connectivity.

He disclosed that Fantswam is among ten communities selected to benefit from the initiative, attributing the achievement to the efforts of renowned community developer, Dr. John Dada of Fantswam Foundation.
In his remarks, a representative of the Agwam Zikpak, Dr. Josiah Kantyok, expressed pride in Dr. Dada’s developmental initiatives in the Fantswam community, describing them as impactful and inspiring.

Similarly, the Chairman of Bayan Loko Development Association, Mr. Bala Makoshi, lauded Dr. Dada for his commitment to community development.
In her welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of Fantswam Foundation, Comfort Kazanka, disclosed that the digital training programme is expected to run for one year and called for sustained support from stakeholders to ensure its success.
