The House refer the petition to the House Committees on Petitions and Lands giving them three weeks to report back.
Also under matters of urgent public importance, member representing Bogoro Constituency Musa Wakili Nakwada informed the House of a problem faced by his constituents.
According to him, his people converged at the Assembly on Wednesday to complain about collapse of the bridge in Dinki village making the community to be disconnected with Bogoro and other places in the area stressing that the people have no road to and from Bogoro for their day to day activities which is very worrisome especially during this rainy season.
He added that there is also a bridge that linked Monday Market and Bar Arewa which is at the verge of collapse and if it collapses, people will have no road and bridges to access markets and other towns in the local government.
Musa Nakwada therefore called on the Government to come to the rescue of the communities by constructing bridges and access roads.
In his contribution, Bala Abdullahi Dan representing Duguri/Gwana Constituency said that he witnessed how the Bogoro constituents came to the Assembly to register their complain to the member, therefore urged the House to consider the motion and ask the government to do the needful.
Tukur Ibrahim representing Toro/Jama’a Constituency said that it is a very important matter especially at this rainy season when farmers will take fertilizer and other implements to farms and patients to hospital urging that there should be urgent action on the situation.
Also contributing, Mukhtar A Suleiman representing Katagum Constituency recalled that similar problems have been brought before the House on many occasions, he therefore suggested that the resolution of the House should draw the attention of the Governments on all similar problems.
Mukhtar Suleiman cited example with communities in Katagum Constituency that are cut off from other parts of the Local Government whenever it is rainy season, urging that the House should follow up the matter and make sure action is taken.
On his part, Ado Wakili representing Burra Constituency said that there is similar problem in his Constituency, in which a bridge that linked Sama and Burra has collapsed which makes the road inaccessible and people are suffering in accessing places, including the Local Government Headquarters.
He said that people now have to pass through Kano and Jigawa States to visit Ningi, the LGA Headquarters, urging the Honourable House to also do something about the situation.
However, Minority Leader Bakoji Aliyu Bobbo representing Chiroma Constituency noted that the House appropriates budgets for projects such as these, if the House appropriated funds for projects, there is need of the lawmakers to follow up saying that if it is not captured in the budget, they should make sure it was captured.
The Minority Leader added that by mere bringing the problems to the Floor of the Assembly, the problem may not be solved, the Members have to be up and doing by following up the matters
Majority Leader, Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu concured with Aliyu Bobbo saying that bringing complaints is like doing 50% while the remaining 50% is lobbying to make sure the projects are executed, he therefore encouraged Members to develop the skill of follow up and lobby.
Speaker of the House, Abubakar Suleiman also agreed with two Leaders in which he said follow up by individual member and relevant committees for execution of projects is very important and asked members to develop the culture of follow up and lobby.
He directed the House Committee on Works and Transport to follow up the matter and make sure the Government has done something on the matter.
