Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative (APBPI) honors men who have chosen to be more than just providers but are mentors, role models, and sources of inspiration for their children.

The NGO made the remarks in a statement to mark this year’s Father’s Day.

According to the statement, APBPI recognizes the vital role fathers play in shaping the lives of their children and families.

It described fathers as the rock of families whose guidance, support, and love are essential to children’s development.

Fathers teach children valuable lessons, like integrity, hard work, and resilience and help develop their passions and interests, and encourage them to pursue their dreams, the statement added.

However, the Initiative also acknowledge that being a father is not just about providing financial support, it’s about being present, engaged, and involved in children’s lives.

It pointed out that being a father is about attending school events, sports games, and recitals and about having meaningful conversations, sharing wisdom, and offering guidance.

“As we celebrate you today, we also urge you to continue being fully invested in your children’s lives. Be the role model they need, the mentor they seek, and the safe haven they deserve. Show them that being a good father is not just about providing money, but about being present, supportive, and loving,” the statement said.

APBPI noted that memories fathers create, values they instill, the love shared will leave an indelible mark on children’s lives and leaves a lasting legacy that will shape generations to come.

“At the Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative, we believe that fathers play a critical role in shaping the next generation of leaders, innovators, and citizens. We encourage all fathers to embrace their role and strive to be the best version of themselves for their children,” the statement noted

The Initiative said fathers are the unsung heroes of families and honor them today and every day.
