FCT Jukun Wanu Association holds get together as its leaders call for bond among members

The Jukun Wanu Association (JUWA) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) held its end-of-year get together with a call by its leaders to bond together as one.
The meeting on Sunday, held at the National Park Service (NPS) along Airport Road, Abuja.
JUWA has not held any get together in the past few years and the first the present executive is holding such occasion since it was inaugurated in October 2021 and began work in February 2022.
A former chairman of the association, Alhaji M.B. Mohammed stressed the need for members to do things together as one and bond in friendship.
He gave instances where Jukun in Diaspora help each other especially those who have difficulties in their businesses.
According to him, during fishing that Jukun Wanu are known for, brethren would contribute and buy new nets for those who have bad ones.



Alhaji Mohammed also expressed worry about the lack on committed of members towards attending monthly meetings noting that the attitude must change.
In his welcome speech, the chairman of the association, Mr. Anthony Maliki urged members to attend meetings because it is on such occasions that bond arouse.
He stressed that even if members can not attend meeting regularly, they should be seen once in a while.
Maliki called on those who have not registered with the association should get the forms.
