Staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, hosted a surprise birthday reception for FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike.
The gathering was organized by staff members led by the FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud and Mandate Secretaries to felicitate the Minister on his 56th birthday.
This was contained in a statement by Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press in the office of the Minister to Apex News Exclusive.
The surprise celebration took place at the entrance of the FCT Minister’s office at Area 11 Garki Abuja, where the Minister was greeted by a chorus of solidarity songs and happy birthday wishes.
The staff members, during the celebration also presented the Minister with beautiful birthday cards, cakes and life sized portraits of himself.
Speaking during the event, FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud described the day as special and thanked God for the gift of life, strong health and prosperity, adding that the birthday party had been organized by the staff to show their love for the Minister.
Barrister Wike who was surprised, in his response, thanked the staff for the surprise reception and for their show of love.
The Minister stated that he was at the Presidential Villa when he received a call from the Minister of State to come to the office for an official engagement only to be greeted by the surprise reception.
He thanked the staff for the kind gesture and assured that he will continue to work for the benefit of the FCT and her residents.
8. The reception was characterized by cultural dances and birthday songs by the staff and guests who were present at the event.
Also present during the birthday celebration were the Executive Secretary FCDA, Engr Shehu Hadi Ahmed, Directors and other senior officials of the FCTA.
