Federal Poly, Oko elects Dr. Ezeokafor as new Deputy Rector

Dr. Ferguson Chukwudozie Ezeokafor has been elected the new Deputy Rector (Administration) of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State.
His emergence followed a keenly contested election conducted by the institution’s Academic Board on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
The election, which took place during the Academic Board meeting chaired by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, featured two nominees in line with the provisions of the Polytechnic Act.
The Rector had nominated Dr. Ezeokafor, the Director of Academic Planning, and Dr. Elias Okeke, Head of the Chemistry Department, for the position. Dr. Ezeokafor secured the highest number of votes to clinch the seat.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ezeokafor expressed gratitude to the Rector and the Academic Board for the confidence placed in him.
He pledged to work collaboratively with the Rector to further strengthen the institution and enhance its reputation as a citadel of excellence.
A Chief Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy and a Fellow of the Certified National Accountants, Dr. Ezeokafor has served in various strategic roles within the polytechnic.
These include Chairman of the Teaching Staff Appraisal Committee, Chairman of the Committee on Harmonization of Teaching Courses, and membership in the Tenders Board Committee, Council Committee on Academic Matters, Affiliation and Accreditation, as well as the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee.
He is set to assume office as Deputy Rector on December 17, 2025, succeeding Dr. Kenneth Ezekwe, whose tenure is drawing to a close.
